EXPERTS ON DELIMITATION OF AZERI-GEORGIAN STATE BORDER TO MEET IN BAKU

Experts on the delimitation of the Azerbaijani-Georgian state border will meet in Baku in August 2005, the Hikmet Mammadov, the head of the State Committee on Land and Cartography, told Trend.

According to Mammadov, Azerbaijan has accorded with Georgia 20% of wrangling lands. The key objective of the meeting is to continue the discussions in this direction.

A 480km-long Azerbaijani-Georgian state border includes 5 section and 24 semi-sections. Some of them have been accorded with Azerbaijan. "Georgia uses the map with a scale 1: 500,000 mm while calculation, while Azerbaijan - 1: 100,000 mm, which is the more exact one, he underscored.
