AZERBAIJAN’S FM SENT INVITATIONS TO FOREIGN COUNTRIES FOR PARLIAMENTARY ELECTIONS OBSERVATION

The Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan has sent appeals to the countries, in which there are Azerbaijan’s diplomatic missions, as well as to the representation offices of the international institutions with the invitation to observe the forthcoming parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan. According to him, the positive response has been recently received from the Council of Europe, and no response from OSCE, UNO and the CIS countries so far, but “they are expected shortly”.

Commenting on the US Senate resolution adopted on 20 July, under which holding of free and democratic elections in Azerbaijan are called on, Mammadyarov said, that he has received it but not got familiarized yet.

He also said, that the deputy US State Secretary Paula Dobryanski and some US State Department high-ranking officials will visit Baku shortly.
