Heads of Foreign Ministries of Azerbaijan and China, Elmar Mammadyarov and Lee Chaosin discussed the prospects of bilateral relations. On the initiative of the Foreign Minister of the China People’ Republic a telephone talk between him and his Azerbaijani counterpart took place, the Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry’s press center told Trend.
The sides exchanged opinions on successfully developing comprehensive cooperation between Azerbaijan and China. The Chinese Foreign Minister Lee Chaosin underlined the significance of documents in regard to definition and implementation of priorities of bilateral ties between the two countries, signed during the President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to China in March 2005. The Minister has also remembered consultations held by him with the Minister Mammadyarov in the framework of his Azerbaijani counterpart’s visit to Beijing in February 2005, and during his visit to Azerbaijan in October 2004.
The Ministers have also discussed the possibilities for expanding mutual relations in the framework of international organizations, touched on various aspects of reforms, held at the UNO and its structures.
