Members of the Azadlig block вЂ" the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA), reformists, the Democratic Party and Musavat will not take part in the meeting authority-opposition on 29 July, held by the New Azerbaijan Party (NAP). The decision has been taken at the block’s meeting on 28 July, Trend reports.

The PFPA (reformists) chairman Ali Kerimli noted to journalists at the briefing, that NAP breached the agreement, concluded with the political forces. В"At the previous meeting the accord was reached that the queue to proceed with the dialogue authority-opposition passes to Musavat party, but the NAP leadership, having violated the accord, set the meeting for 29 July. We regret it”, Kerimli noted.

According to him, another reason for discontent is that NAP proposed to discuss not the parliamentary elections at the meeting, but financing political parties from abroad.

Kerimli reported, that the Azadlig block wants to discuss the issues of the Electoral Code improvement, fair, transparent and democratic elections, creating equal conditions for all candidates and ensuring rights for holding free assemblies at the meeting. В"Under the Azerbaijan’s legislation, funding political parties from abroad is banned and there is no need to discuss the issue. In case the parties are financed from abroad, it is an offence, to be investigated by the relevant bodies.

The meeting set for 29 July to discuss these issues, having delayed innumerous actual and important matters on the eve of the elections, may not take place”, he noted.

According to him, in case the meeting is not dedicated to the actual topics, related to the elections, the Azadlig block parties will not take part in the event.
