There is no reason for disagreement between Azadlig and New Policy election blocs about candidature of Lala Shovkat Hajiyeva [the former member of the New Policy bloc, leader of
the National unity movement ], Ali Karimli, the chairman of the Popular Front of Azerbaijan Party (PFAP, reformers), told Trend.
Hajiyeva will ballot from the constituency (17th Yasamal) with Ayaz Mutallibov, the leader of the Social Democratic Party. Azadlig block will support the Hajiyeva’s candidature.
Karimli noted that they were aware of Hajiyeva’s balloting from the 17th Yasamal constituency. Therefore, the Azadlig bloc advised its members not to nominate their candidacies from the constituency. “Unfortunately, New Policy bloc nominates Mutallibov’s candidature from the constituency,” he underlined.
Karimli does not see any reason for disagreement between the blocs. “We are sorry that Mutallibov’s candidature was not nominated from other constituency. Nevertheless, we don’t suppose the issue to evolve serious disagreement between the parties and blocks as we resolved to support of Hajiyeva’s candidacy from this constituency prior to the New Policy,” Karimli added.
