In January to June 2005 the communications enterprises provided population and economic subjects with services worth 932.2bn manats, or 29.9% over the year-on-year indicator. 26.2% of services fell on public sector, while 73.8% - on private sector. The services grew 11.1% and 38.3% respectively. 75.2% of all services was delivered to population.

4/5 of communications services fell on mobile communications. Incomes from communications grew 1.6 times as compared to 2004 and comprised 708.7bn manats. At present 203 mobile phone subscribers fall on each 1000 people.
Considerable rise in the telecommunications services was fixed in the regions. It comprised 5% in Aran economic zone, 19.6% - Absheron, 7,4% - Guba-Khachmaz, 9.6% - Shirvan, 13.6% - РІ Shaki-Zakatala, 12.9% - Ganja-Gazakh, 21.9% - in Nakhchivan and 11.6% - in Lankaran.
The Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies transferred 46bn manats to the public budget (approx $9.7m) against the forecast of 36.9bn manats ($7.8m).
