The meeting of the Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister (FM) Elmar Mammadyarov and the US State Secretary Condoleezza Rice will take place today (2 August) in Washington.
The issues of bilateral development cooperation, the US role in settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh problem as the OSCE Minsk group member, implementation of energy projects in the Caspian region, preparation for the 6 November Parliament elections and other issues will be discussed during the meeting, Trend reports.
In the framework of the Azerbaijan’s FM head 5-day working visit to the USA negotiations with the American government’s officials are scheduled. The head of the Azerbaijan’s FM will, particularly, hold talks at the Pentagon and the National Security Council.
Holding of the roundtable with representatives of the National Democratic Institute, the International Republican Institute (IRI), the International Foundational on Election Systems (IFES) are also supposed to be held.
On 3 August Mammadyarov will make a speech on economic transformations in Azerbaijan at the Trade and Culture Centre of Azerbaijan in front of the American-Azerbaijani Trade Chamber members.
Meeting of the Azerbaijan’s foreign policy department at the Carnegy Foundation is scheduled for 4 August.
