REPRESENTTAIVES OF CCMCA MEMBER COUNTRIES TO DISCUSS MEASURES ON STRENGTHENING SECURITY AND CONFIDENCE IN REGION

A complex of measures in military and political, economic and ecological spheres on strengthening of security and confidence in the region will be discussed at the next meeting of the representatives of states of the Conference on Mutual Cooperation and Measures of Confidence in Asia (CCMCA), The Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan told Trend.

At the meeting of the Special Task Force and the Officials’ Committee to be held in early October, the organization’s working documents will be elaborated.

Рђzerbaijan will be represented by deputy Foreign Minister and experts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the meeting.

It should be reminded, the organization was set up in1992 on the initiative of the President of Kazakhstan Nazarbayev. The first summit of heads of states and governments of the organization took place in June 2002.

The organization comprises 16 countries: Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Egypt, India, Israel, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, and etc. Some international organizations are also represented there: the UNO, OSCE, the League of Arabian Countries.
