PRO-GOV’L PARTIES DID NOT PARTICIPATE AT MEETING OF OPPOSITION PARTIES

A next round of the government-opposition dialogue was held at the headquarters of the Musavat Party without participation of the representatives of the ruling party Yeni Azerbaijan, as well as the Ana Vatan (Motherland) and the Social Welfare on 5 August.

The attending were Mauricio Pavesi, the head of the Baku office of the OSCE, Isa Gambar, the chairman of the Musavat Party, Vurgun Eyub, the deputy chairman of the Musavat Party, Ali ALiyev, the chairman of the National Independency Party, Sabir Rustamkhanli, the head of the Civil Solidarity Party, Akif Shahbazov and Fuad Mustafayev, the deputy chairmen of the Democratic Party and the Popular Front of Azerbaijan Party.

The meeting discussed issues related with the forthcoming elections such as holding of free, fair and democratic elections, forming of elections commissions on parity, establishment of equal conditions for candidates, provision of rights to hold free gathering and repatriate political exiles.

The appeal of 5 items was adopted at the end of the event
