The march-rally of Azadlig block will take place in late August or in early September in Baku, the press service of the Democratic Party of Azerbaijan (DPA), a part of the alliance told Trend. The party’s press service head Nuraddin Ismailov reported, the block Azadlig’s leaders took a decision to hold a rally, but the exact time of the action has not been set so far.
The reason is engagement in preparatory works to parliamentary elections, the signature collecting campaigning by the block’s candidates, the documents submission issues. During the march the demands to hold free and fair elections, to establish a democratic environment, to change the Election Code, to stop the black PR campaigning will be voiced.
According to Ismailov, process occurring lately around the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA), the reformists’ wing, the anti-propaganda campaign against this party and the opposition may speed up the time of mass actions of the Azadlig block. В"The current events, campaigning against opposition, unequal and anti-democratic conditions for political parties may force us to hold actions of protest ahead of the scheduled time. After the rally in Baku, mass actions will start in the regions”, Ismailov said.
