USA HOPES TO EXPAND PROVISIONAL NAVAL COMMAND CONTROL CENTRE BUILT IN BAKU BY THEM

(Mediamax) вЂ" In the coming 6 years Pentagon plans to allocate $ 130 million for the development of "The Caspian Guard Initiative”, key participants of which are Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, lieutenant colonel Scott Sweetser, who coordinated the establishment of the “Caspian Guard” program for the European command of the USA Armed Forces told the reporter of the American military newspaper Stars and Stripes.

Thanks to the �Caspian Guard” program the USA hopes to improve patrolling on the Caspian Sea, to secure the borders safety in the region, to stop trafficking of terrorists, arms and drugs and to stabilize the region on the whole.

Although the program’s key participants are currently Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, Scott Sweetser has not ruled out, it may be enlarged in subsequent years.
