The Embassy of Ukraine in Azerbaijan supports developing process of democratization of the Azerbaijani society, in which the opposition plays an important role, charge d’affaires of Ukraine in Azerbaijan Igor Kasema told Trend during his interview, commenting on the statement of the Azadlig block in regard to displaying “hostility” of the Embassy towards the Azerbaijani opposition.
The Ukrainian diplomat does not see any grounds for such statements. He voiced confidence that the forthcoming parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan will pass openly, freely and democratically and will confirm the growing rating of the oppositional parties.
В"Misunderstanding arises due to inexactness and selective presentation of information”, the diplomat stated.
The Azadlig block plans to send a note of protest to the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine in regard to “undiplomatic gesture and statements” of the charge d’affaires, with which he addressed the news conference on 17 August, deputy chairman of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA), reformists, Baheddin Hasiyev told Trend.
