AMBASSADOR OF IRAN: NEW GOVERNMENT WILL CARRY ON ECONOMICAL COOPERATION WITH AZERBAIJAN

A new government of Iran will carry on successful economical cooperation with Azerbaijan, the Ambassador of Iran to Azerbaijan Afshar Suleymanov stated on 25 August at the news conference, Trend reports.

According to him, among the 17 approved members of the Iranian Cabinet of Ministers there are representatives of all country’s ethnical groups, except for Armenians, the Ambassador stressed. He also informed, a new Health Minister is from Lenkoran region of Azerbaijan.

During 3 months President of Iran will introduce new candidates for the remaining posts in the government. They are the positions of the Ministers of Oil, Labour and Social Protection, Cooperation and the Secondary Education.

The government of Iran intends to go on successful implementation of bilateral economic projects, construction of a new transmission line, a highway and etc. The Iranian side plans also to expand trade relations; the goods turnover for the previous year was $500 million, and it does not suit the sides, the diplomat stressed.

Suleymani touched upon the issue of simplification of the visa regime between Iran and Azerbaijan. It is necessary for the further development of bilateral trade-economic links, the Ambassador thinks. According to the Ambassador, the Azerbaijani side has not responded yet to the proposal of Iran on the issue.
