Akif Nagi, the chairman of the Karabakh Liberation Organization, and the members of the Committee on Defense of Karabakh Guerillas held a news conference on 29 August.
The major goal of the conference is to attract the society’s attention to the issue of 13 prisoners, Trend reports.
Nagi informed about results of the work done in the direction of liberation of the Karabakh guerillas. He noted that 8 from 21 prisoners were released and the term of some persons was decreased as a result of their efforts.
The appeal of the rest 13 prisoners will be considered at the Supreme Court under the chairmanship of Zeygam Husseynova on 30 August. “I can say that the accusation at article 279 (illegal establishment of armed group) will be raised,” he stressed.
Nagi also noted that the Supreme Court would probably make sentence on releasing of several more persons. “We will keen for this in any case and continue our activities in this direction irrespective of the results of the Tuesday sitting,” he underlined.
