Representatives of the Council of Europe (CE) in Azerbaijan carry out works on preparation of the campaigning posters, brochures, books, TV programs and video footages, which will be actively used in the pre-election period, the CE Secretary General special envoy in Azerbaijan Mats Lindberg told a news conference on 1 September in Baku, Trend reports.
Lindberg noted, the campaigning work was mainly conducted in three lines: the first, clarification of the election procedures to the electors, namely the rules for participation in the voting; the second, to increase the citizens’ interest in participation in the elections; the third line is familiarizing the voters with the functions, activities and role of the Parliament.
В"The CE representative office in Baku made a financial aid to the non-government organizations (NGOs), which were engaged in the direct preparations of the information projects within the pre-election “The CE Action Program in Azerbaiajn”, the diplomat said, noting, a special attention was focused on the information work for active involvement of female voters at the 6 November elections.
It was announced at the same time, that the CE office jointly with the ANS TV channel prepared a video footage under the title “I want to be a European”, to be on air on 5 September, on the day of holding the Conference “Elections and Development of Democracy” in Baku with participation of the CE Secretary General Terry Davis.
