GUAM EXPERTS TO MEET IN OCT

A next meeting of the GUAM, a regional organization among Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Moldova, will be held in October 2005. The Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan told Trend that experts continue work on the development of regulatory document of the organization, being established on the base of the GUAM.

The development of regulatory documents is carried out on the base of agreements achieved by the heads of the state of GUAM in the Chisinau summit on 22 April 2005. A resolution of the organization of a special meeting was adopted in a gathering of the expert groups in Kiev on 30-31 August with representatives from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine. The participants in the meeting considered the draft Charter proposed by Ukraine, discussed the order of consideration of draft projects of the future organization.

The working groups also adopted a business schedule for 2005-2006 and discussed a wide specter of issues concerning further development of trade and economic relations under the GUAM, including the implementation of an Agreement on the establishment of free economic zone among the GUAM member-countries and organization of the next-in-turn Economic Forum of the GUAM.
