The fourth stage of the regional assistance program “Drug Control in South Caucasus” (SCAD 4) of the UNO Development Program (UNDP) under the financial support of the European Union is being implemented.
One of the lines of the SCAD 4 project is improvement of fight with the illegal drugs trafficking and smuggling by strengthening the border control of Azerbaijan, Trend reports.
Heads of the law enforcement bodies on the border guarding at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport are in London from 4 to 11 September 2005 on a familiarization tour in the framework of the project Drug Control in Frontier Areas.
The purpose of the visit is to study the experience of the European methodology, particularly, the frontier guard service of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and the Northern Ireland. At the same time exchange of opinions on improvement of information mechanism and cooperation takes place.
