Elmar Mammadyarov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, will leave for New York on Tuesday. The goal of the visit is to participate in the 60th anniversary session of the UN General Assembly from 14 to 16 September.
The major issue of the summit will be the report of Kofi Annan, the UN Secretary General, on development, security and human rights, envisaged concrete measures on reforming of the international safety system, struggle with terrorism, reforming of the UN Council of Safety and establishment of acting Council on Human Rights.
The Azerbaijani Minister is expected to meet with his counterparts, representatives of international organizations and companies, as well as participate in some events.
