(Kavkaz-Press) Restoration work in Chichkhituri tower located in David-Gareji, Azerbaijani-Georgian border zone, was stopped at the demand of Baku, Alia daily reports. Azerbaijani frontier guards demanded to stop any work in the tower noting that it was their territory.
Representatives of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Border Department left for David-Gareji to clarify the situation. They said that all details were due to be clarified to avoid conflict at the state border.
Azerbaijan asserts that the tower locates on the strategic height, which allows controlling everything around.
