The term for preliminary investigation carried out by the Ministry of the National Security of Azerbaijan (MNS) in relation to some high-ranking officials of the Head Department for Execution of Court Decisions of the Interior Ministry completed. The investigation period for Justice Ministry officers being currently in custody extended for two months more, the judge Namizad Safarov told Trend.
According to the judge, the reason for extending the investigation for the third time which lasts for over 6 months is related to the investigative actions, particularly with non-completion of the witnesses’ interrogation.
It was noted, new episodes emerged in evidences of witnesses, therefore the circle of the people interrogated grew. The inmates confined currently in jails also act as witnesses.
All convicted are charged with embezzlement and other violations in penitentiary system.
