A problem of appointment of the new Ambassador to Azerbaijan is still to be resolved and remains to be painful. However, it does not mean changes in the level of relationships between Azerbaijan and Russia, Peter Burdikin, the charge d’affaires of Russia to Azerbaijan, told Trend in an exclusive interview.

He explained the delay in appointment of the new diplomat with the organization troubles.

Burdikin noted that a diplomat to work in Baku passed away, while the candidacy was to be presented by President Vladimir Putin to the committees and commission of the State Duma (Russian parliament).

“Even three months ago I thought the candidacy of the new ambassador had been determined. However, now I have some doubts,” Burdikin underlined, stressing that the apportionment of the Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan does not have any political significance.
