HEYDAR ALIYEV FOUNDATION RENDERED AID TO AZERBAIJANI SCHOOLS IN GEORGIA

(РљР°vkaz-Press) The official delegation of the Education Ministry of Azerbaijan headed by the deputy Minister Iskender Iskenderov visited on 24 September 2005 the regions of the Azerbaijanis compact residence in Georgia, and delivered a consignment of the humanitarian aid to the Azerbaijani schools of the region on behalf of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. The Azerbaijani guest was accompanied by his Georgian colleague Alexander Didebulidze, the Embassy of Azerbaijan to Georgia told Trend.

During the visit the deputy Minister met with the teaching staff of schools and representatives of intelligentsia of the Marneuli province. They informed them of the humanitarian action of the Azerbaijani side, during which the students of 8-11 forms were gifted 73,200 text-books.

Addressing the meeting Iskenderobv noted, Azerbaijan always keeps in the focus of its attention the problems of the compatriots residing in Georgia and renders every possible assistance in solution of their problems. The Azerbaijani guest told the people that humanitarian actions of such kind will be performed also in future.

The Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Georgia Ramiz Hasanov voiced satisfaction in his speech by the existing between our countries relations of friendship and cooperation, based on long traditions of good-neighborhood.

Didebulidze on behalf of the Education Ministry and government of Georgia thanked the guests and the leadership of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation for the attention to the Azerbaijani schoolchildren of Georgia. Children from the Azerbaijani schools of Marneuli thanked also the guests in conclusion. The Azerbaijani delegation plans to leave Georgia on 25 September.

It should be noted, in September 2004 in the framework of the humanitarian aid the Azerbaijani side handed over to schools of Kvemo Kartli 56,000 text-books, s well as 6,000 text-books and 12 computers, gifted by the First lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva.
