The preparations for official visit of Vaira Vike-Freiberg, the Lativian President, to Azerbaijan from 3 to 4 October are underway,” Novruz Mammadov, the head of the President’s Apparat Foreign Relations Division, told Trend in an exclusive interview.
According Mammadov, the sides intend to consider issues of multilateral development of the bilateral relations, as well as hold consultations on numerous issues.
He noted that Azerbaijan attaches special importance to the integration into the European and the Euro-Atlantic organizations and Ilham Aliyev’s tour of the European countries, including Bulgaria, Poland, Rumania, Germany, France, and Croatia testified it. “The tour continues and Azerbaijan will intensify its activities,” he added.
Mammadov stressed that agenda and draft documents to be signed during the forthcoming visit are under unification.
The Latvian President will make a tour of the South Caucasus countries from 3 to 8 October. During the tour the Vike-Freiberg will be accompanied by governmental delegation, representatives of business circles and MPs of the Latvian Seym Cooperation Group.
