UNO WORKSHOP ON IMPROVEMENT OF LEGAL COOPERATION IN CAUCASUS STARTED IN GEORGIA

The UNO regional workshop on improvement of the legal cooperation in Caucasus started in the Georgian town of Chakva. The event takes place in the framework of the 3 stages of the regional support program “Drug Control in South Caucasus” (SCAD), implemented by the UN Development Program (UNDP) efforts under the financial support of the European Union, the UN office in Baku told Trend.

The key goal of the workshop is to study the efficiency of the regional cooperation mechanisms in such fields of law, as extradition, arrest and seizure of illegal profit.

Officials of the Azerbaijan’s Supreme Court, as well as of the Department on the International Law of the Prosecutor General’s office, the Interpol National Bureau in Baku, Foreign Ministry, Interior Ministry, Justice Ministry and the Ministry of National Security of Azerbaijan take part in the event.

Experts from Kazakhstan, Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, Iran, the United Kingdom and the USA are also involved in the work of the seminar. It will finish its work on 30 September.
