The Azerbaijan Supreme Court considered the appeal of Vugar Beyturani, the chairman of the Turkish National Party, under the chairmanship of Shalala Mammadova on 29 September. The reason for the appeal is non-registration of his candidacy in Masalli constituency 70, Trend reports.

Beyturani dissatisfied with the decision of the central Election Committee (CEC) appealed to the Court of Appeal, which upheld the decision of the CEC . Then he turned to the Supreme Court, but it also upheld the decision of the Court of Appeal.

According to Beyturani, he collected enough signatures for registration of his candidacy. “The eyewitnesses, appeared before the court, approved that they signed under my candidacy. I presented over 50 ID cards testifying it. However, the judge did not answer to my appeal,” he added.

Beyturani stressed that he would do his best to restore his rights. “I will appeal to the plenum of the Supreme Court soon. If the instance does not make fair decision, I will have to turn to the Constitutional Court and the European Court on Human Rights,” he underlined.
