В"There was no such an interest in any country to the parliamentary elections as in Azerbaijan”, the head of the foreign relations department of the Azerbaijan President’s Executive Office Novruz Mammadov told journalists on 29 September, Trend reports.

According to him, over 1000 foreign observers will arrive in the country and they will mostly represent Europe, CIS and the USA.

Besides, a large number of journalists will be accredited.

Explaining the reasons for the interest to the country’s parliamentary election, Mammadov said, “Azerbaijan is the mostly developed state in the region in the last years, it pursues an independent foreign policy and reached high results in the international cooperation field. The present status of Azerbaijan may strongly influence the processes in Euro-Asia. Therefore, all processes in Azerbaijan today are in the very focus of the world community’s attention”.

Mammadov noted the Azerbaijani side did not invite the USA National Institute of Democracy to observe the elections. According to him, non-government organizations operate everywhere and perform their function’.

Mammadov also stressed the significance of holding exit-poll in Azerbaijan.
