Asgar Alakbarov, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, participates in the meeting of the Council of the CIS Interior Ministers holding in Armenia on 29 Thursday.
“The meeting aimed at strengthening of cooperation between CIS force bodies,” Mehrab Tukanov, the chief of the International Cooperation Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, told Trend.
He also stressed the Armenian government undertook ensuring of safety of the Azerbaijani representative. Asgarov will return to Azerbaijan on Friday.
In his remarks, Vladimir Rushaylo, the chairman of the CIS Executive Committee, stated that during the Kazan summit the CIS countries confirmed their readiness for cooperation, particularly, in economic integration, safety and humanitarian aid.
Total number of crimes committed in the territory of the CIS over the first half-year of 2005 grew by 12% as compared 2004. Rushaylo voiced hope that the CIS Interior Ministers will cooperate in adoption of actual agreements and documents.
