В"We will raise the issue in regard to Azerbaijan at the autumn session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), despite this issue is not on the agenda”, a member of the Azerbaijani delegation to PACE, a Milli Mejlis deputy Bahtiyar Aliyev said in a statement, Trend reports.

The deputy noted, they will raise the issue on elaboration of the legal mechanism for the political solution on withdrawal of the Armenian military units from the Azerbaijani territories, acknowledgement of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, returning of refugees and internally displaced people (IDPs) to their homes, adopted in January 2005 at the sitting of the Assembly subcommittee, set up on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Aliyev noted, based on the resolution adopted in 2002, a new report on the situation with the refugees and IDPs in South Caucasus is under development. “The document notes, that Armenia has no right to settle people on the occupied areas. However, it is the fact, that Armenia settles Armenians from other places on these areas. We will carry out work at
the subcommittee’s sitting for this process to be stopped”, Aliyev said.

Aliyev said, there are no issues related to Azerbaijan at the PACE autumn session agenda. He noted, the subcommittee on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is to function constantly on the insistence of the Azerbaijani delegation.

The work of the PACE autumn session will last from 3 till 8 October 2005. The delegation of Azerbaijan will head for Strassburg on 1 October.
