The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Tourism is involved in he development of a draft state program on the development of tourism in Azerbaijan, Abulfaz Garayev, the Minister for Youth, Sports and Tourism, told a news conference on Saturday, Trend reports.
The document covering 10 years will be implemented from 2006.
The program will provide real opportunities for changing Azerbaijan to a tourist zone.
The program also stipulates issues linked with the ecological problems, construction of hotels.
The Ministry is in talks with the Ministry of Economic Development of Azerbaijan for approval of governmental credits for the development of this sector. Any private plans by the entrepreneurs should be accorded with the Ministry, as sometimes they are built in unnecessary places.
The Ministry will carry out structural changes shortly, Garayev announced.
There will be established new bodies, which will center on the development of tourism.
In the perspective Azerbaijan also plans to establish a special university for training of specialist on tourism, Garayev underscored.
