LATVIA TO OPEN EMBASSY IN BAKU

Latvia plans to open the Embassy in Azerbaijan, the diplomatic sources told Trend.

About intentions of Latvia to open the Embassy in Baku will be announced, as expected, during the official visit of this country’s President Vayra Vike-Freiberga to Azerbaijan. The Latvian side plans to set to work on opening the Embassy in the current year.

It should be noted, the visit of the Latvian President Vayra Vike-Freiberga will take place on 3-4 October 2005. The head of the state will be accompanied during the trip by the government delegation, as well as by about 50 Latvian entrepreneurs. Signing of around 6 documents on cooperation in economics, science, culture, defense, customs and investments is expected in the framework of the visit.

Рђzerbaijan opened the Embassy to Latvia in the current September. The Ambassador is appointed the former Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Tofig Zulfugarov.
