125 international observers who will monitor the 6 November Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan registered so far, the head of the international links department of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Rovzat Gasimov told Trend.
According to him, 77 persons from this number are the observers from the Executive Committee and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), 46 people are members of the OSCE observation mission and 2 persons are observers from the International Foundation of Electoral Systems (IFES).
Gasimov also noted that the number of international observers will grow by the election day. He did not confirm the information that the head of the Russia’s CEC will visit Azerbaijan in regard to the participation of the Russian observers at the elections. CEC of Azerbaijan did not apply to the Russia’ CEC in this regard.
