SPECIAL ELECTION COMMITTEE SENT OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT

A special election committee (SEC) applied to the President of Azerbaijan with an open letter, the SEC deputy chairman Rovshan Ahmedli told Trend.

According to him, the letter says on the violations of the rights of 1500 independent candidates, represented in SEC, on impediments from the part of the executive bodies locally in the course of implementation of the President’s decree of 11 May 2005 “On improvement of the election practice”. В"This is the second letter we sent to the President. The first letter was sent from the President’s executive office to the Central Election Committee for consideration. We would like the President to receive us and hear”.

Ahmedli also noted SEC held meetings with some foreign institutions: representatives of OSCE, the Baku office of the Institute of the National Democracy, the US Embassy and the US State Department officials who arrived in Baku to monitor the elections. В"Our last meeting with the US State Department officers was held in “ISR Plaza”. We reported the representatives of the foreign institutions on the violations.
