“Azerbaijan became a member of the Pro-Liberal Parties Union established during the round-table on protection of liberal values in Europe, held in Chisinau,” Fuad Aliyev, the chairman of the Azerbaijan Liberal Democratic Party (ALDP), told Trend.

According to Aliyev, despite the invitation, he did not manage to participate in the round-table in relation to the election campaign. “The Liberal Azerbaijan’ election bloc was represented at the event by Vugar Alishanbayli. The round-table made a decision on establishment of the structure of the pro-liberal parties acting in Europe,” he underlined.

Aliyev said that the PPU includes liberal-democratic parties of Israel, Ukraine, Georgia, Bulgaria and Azerbaijan. Pro-liberal organizations of other countries also may join the union. The main goal of the union is to protect liberal values in Europe and discuss the ways of joint solution of existing problems.
