CIS COUNCIL OF HEADS OF GOV’T TO DISCUSS OVER 30 ISSUES

A meeting of the CIS Council of heads of governments will be held late November- early December 2005, the CIS Executive Committee headquarters in Minsk.

30 issues will be put for discussion, of then 21 are ready for consideration. They concern the formation of a general energy market of CIS countries, a set of middle-term actions on turnover of national products of competitive capability in the internal market of CIS and markets of the third countries. The draft agenda also includes a drat convention on border cooperation and the issue on injecting changes supplements to the regulation on Interstate Council on Extreme Situations of natural and technogen character.

The heads of government plan to sign 25 different documents without discussion. They are agreements on harmonization of technical agendas, on unified methodology of the customs statistics of foreign policy, on competition on search of CIS premiums for achievement of high quality good and services, on concept on development of elder education in CIS countries, an agreement on cooperation in the sphere of work with youth.

A bloc of military issues include documents on goal-directed program on ensuring a complex resistance of CIS forces and anti-air forces to air attacks, on approval of assignments for establishment and development of united air-defense forces of CIS in 2006, on prolongation of common programs on improvement of the unified anti-air defense forces.
