PACE co- rapporteur Andres Herkel plans to pay a visit to Baku from 9 to 10 October. Goal of the visit is to study the preparations held for the parliamentary elections, Herkel told Trend .
“We will discuss the issue with representatives of government, opposition and leaders of non-governmental organizations. We will visit Baku not as PACE co- rapporteurs, but also as PACE observers in the formal view,” he said.
According to Herkel, he and Andreas Gross are automatically observers during preparations for the elections as co-rapporteurs. “It is the last evaluation visit for Gross and me till holding of elections. We will express our opinions and follow the situation in the country,” he added.
