“A method of international mediation in the resolution of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh is acceptable, while there is not necessity for current activities of the OSCE Minsk Group. It selected wrong principles in approach to the conflict,” Akif Nagi, the chairman of the Karabakh Liberation Organization (KLO), told Trend.
Nagi noted that the Minsk Group’s activities are mainly observed in the definition of the status of Nagorno-Karabakh, while the rest issues such as the removal of the results of the Armenian aggression, repatriation of refugees and internally displaced people are not considered as important.
Nagi emphasized that the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs show unilateral approach to the Karabakh problem and it should be changed through observation of Azerbaijan�s interests. “The countries such as Turkey, Ukraine and Germany can be attracted to the mediation mission.
New methods of international mediation should be found and just point of Azerbaijan must be backed, the aggressor and the country imposed to aggression should be defined. In the contrary, all should understand the damping of prospects of peaceable resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in a peaceable way,” Nagi underscored.
According to Nagi, not only the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs, but also the International Crisis Group, the PA OSCE rapporteur, Goran Lenmarker tok pro-Armenian position in the issue of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. “The International Crisis Group develops report under the Armenians’ pressure. Lenmarker calls on the side imposed to aggression to make compromises for the aggressor. The KLO is keen on neutralizing the activities of people and organizations which demonstrate such a stance. In this connection we will hold protest actions. Our key objective is not only to rally, but also prevent the threats on national interests on the international level,” Nagi underscored.
Nagi also noted that he had not received replies to proposals to the candidates to MP to sign a �Karabakh Declaration’.
