The 4th forum of the Azerbaijani forum was held at Heydar Aliyev palace at organization of the Youth, Tourism and Sport Ministry on Friday. Attending the event were the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Ministers, heads of departments and representatives of the youth, Trend reports.
The Youth, Sport and Tourism Minister, Abulfaz Garayev opened the event with report on the work done by the youth and the activities of the Ministry. He spoke about successful policy of the Azerbaijani government pursued in youth sphere, state care for children, teenages and the youth, improvement of state of students and struggle with drug addiction, AIDS. The Minister stressed that they opened numerous jobs in the regions of the country, constructed over 15 sports complexes. “Our sportsmen gained 184 medals in 2003, 194 - in 2004 and 190 - in the last 9 months of 2005,” he stated.
Garayev touched upon the participation of the youth in the forthcoming parliamentary elections. He stressed that part of the opposition aspire to use the youth for achievement of their destructive
goals.
Sevinj Masiyeva, the chairman of the National Council of Youth Organizations, delivered a report on activities of the bodies, as well as informed the participants of the event about integration of the youth into international organizations, role of the youth in the society, their problems.
in his turn, President Ilham Aliyev underlined that the Azerbaijani youth was active part of the society. The head of the country also touched upon the reforms carried out in the country. “Azerbaijan is one of the countries of the world, which is on the way of sweep development and this fact was mentioned by all international organizations,” Aliyev said. He underlined importance of development of infrastructure of oil sector and revival of the non-oil sector at the expense of oil incomes. He also spoke about restoration of territorial integrity. Touching upon the negotiations, the President said that patience of the Azerbaijani nation was perennial and they liberate the occupied territories.
Intigam Babayev, the Deputy Minister, made a report on the results of the work done after the last forum. At the end of the event the resolution of the 4th forum was read out.
