The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Turkish Republic of the Northern Cyprus (TRNC) expresses its deep satisfaction by the initiatives of Azerbaijan on breaking the international isolation in regard to TRNC, the statement of the TRNC Foreign Ministry says, Trend reports.
The statement notes, that in reply to the moves on rapprochement of Baku and TRNC the Greek community of the island jointly with Greece initiated the anti-Azerbaijani campaign inside the European Union (EC), trying by this to exert pressure on Azerbaijan.
It is stressed despite the assurances of the European Union (EU) on the necessity to relax the international isolation regime in respect to the Northern Cyprus the official Brussels has toughened its positions towards the Turks-Cypriots. The EU negative attitude to Baku, which started actively develop humanitarian relations with the northern Cyprus is not exception too.
It is noted, the position of Brussels is radically differ from the statements on the wish to lessen the international pressure on TRNC. Azerbaijan, in its steps towards TRNC is based on the position of the UNO Secretary General which called on to complete removal of the isolation regime towards TRNC.
It is stressed, the EU position on rapprochement of Azerbaijan with TRNC is groundless and negative and such approach to the issue is unacceptable.
