Situation in control area remains stable, vice-head of Baku Police Department assures

“The situation in the area the Azadlyg election bloc plans to stage a rally on Monday is stable,” Yashar Aliyev, the head of the Baku Central Department told Trend.

“The airport highway is under control and only the cars are allowed to function in the route after the through detection. The police takes every effort to preserve the stability and for the time succeeds to. Several people have been detained for showing resistance to police and taken to the police precinct. The last arrested was Gurban Mammadov, a member of the ADP, who was also detained for resistance to police,” Aliyev underscored.

Aliyev also noted that the ex-chief of the Ganja Police Department, Natig Efendiyev, who has been recently released, and Etibar Guliyev, the closes relative to Rasul Guliyev, were among the arrested for resistance to police. He noted that the police revealed and took arms from the several detained. “In general, the protestors are expected to have guns, in respect to which the police intensified the control,” Aliyev underscored.
