The OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs are expected to hold a meeting in Washington late
this week or beginning of next week, Russian Ambassador Yuriy Merzlyakov, the OSCE MG co-chair, told Trend.
According to Merzlyakov, the mediators from the United States, France and Russia should carry out consultations and discuss the current stage of the peaceable talks on the resolution of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh.
Merzlyakov refuted any possibility for the co-chairs’ tour of the region in October. He noted that a meeting of the MG co-chairs with the Azerbaijani and Armenian Foreign Ministers in Ljubljana is still to be coordinated. After the meeting of diplomats in Ljubljana it would be possible to speak concretely about the future plans and activities of the OSCE MG.
