Reasons for crash of Russian helicopter РљР°-32 investigated

The reasons for the crash of helicopter РљР°-32 в"-Ra-31007, belonged to the Russian NPK/PANK Air Lines Company, in 3 km of the Goychay settlement at 20.28pm on 22 are investigated.

The helicopter was committing a ferry flight to Islamabad through Trabzon-Ganja-Turkmenbashi, Pakistan, on the UN humanitarian aid, the news release of AZAL Azerbaijan Air Lines Company says.

The communication with the helicopter was lost in 36 minutes after its take-off from the Ganja airport. In accordance to initial data, 5-man crew, Russian citizens, perished.

A commission dispatched to the place of accident to investigate the reasons for the crash.

No damage was caused to state and private property, as well as none of Geoychay residents suffered from the accident, as the helicopter crash down in empty area.

Criminal case on item 262 of the Azerbaijani Criminal Code was filed as a result of the accident.

“Eyewitnesses say that the helicopter sought to land down, evidently, the crew chose the place and made their best in such cases i.e. turned floodlight on and issued flare pot,” the Azerbaijani embassy in Russia told RIA �Novosti’.

The firemen arrived at the place of the accident extinguished the fire, but did not manage to rescue the members of the crew. The helicopter burned down.

The embassy publicized the names of the died members of the crew: commander Belyanin Mikhail Victorovich born in 1952, Kukuchenko Sergey Borisovich - 1953, Pavlov Victor Anatolyevich - 1964, Chipuley Igor Nikolayevich - 1967, Gorsunov Sergey Petrovich - 1953.
