A short-term observation mission of the Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE headed by Alcee L. Hastings, the Special Coordinator of the PA President for the Azerbaijani parliamentary elections to be held on November 6, will visit Azerbaijan early this November, Heide Smith, a representative of the OSCE/ODIHR mission in Baku from the UK, told Trend.
Hastings will participate in the monitoring of the elections, while on 7 November he will personally publicize the results of the monitoring held by the international mission. The ballot boxes will be sealed on 6 November with the participation in the morning, conduct during the day, and the counting of ballots in the evening.
The Chairman-in-Office of the OSCE, Slovenian Foreign Minister Dmitrij Rupel, has appointed President Alcee L. Hastings as his Special Coordinator for the Azerbaijani parliamentary elections to be held on November 6.
