(RIA Novosti) The USA call on Azerbaijan to ensure fair and free holding of the forthcoming November parliamentary elections, the US President Advisor on National Security Stephen J. Hadley said in a statement on Monday being on a visit in Moscow, Trend reports.
"If to hold elections, they must be free and just. That is what Azerbaijan needs”, Hadley stressed at the meeting with journalists in Spaso-Haus, the US Ambassador’s residence in Russia. According to Hadley, the opposition in Azerbaijan is to have, first of all, the opportunity “to participate in the competition, rallies and have access to the media”.
Results of the elections, Hadley said, are to be recognized not only by international observers, but the Azerbaijani people as well.
