“The integration of Nagorno-Karabakh to Europe is possible only within Azerbaijan, there is no other way,” Novruz Mammadov, the head of the Foreign Relations Division of the Presindet’s Apparat, told Trend in an exclusive interview. He was commenting the last statement of the Armenian President, Robert Kocharian on establishement of conditions for integration of Nagorno-Karabakh to European community broadcasted by the Euronews channel.
According to Mammadov, admission of Armenia to Europe was under question so far, but now they spoke about Nagorno-Karabakh. “It is next political manipulation of the Armenian government. The statement is aimed at deceiving, changing of the position of the international community, as the words of Kocharian do not correspond reality,” he added.
“If the Armenian President desires to present the occupation of the Azerbaijani territories as realization of ethnic minority within international law, it is nothing else but maneuvers and deception,” he added.
Mammadov noted that Azerbaijan’s intensive economic development, strengthening of army, rising of rating on international stage worry the Armenian leadership. Therefore, they try to distract the international community with such false statements, but it will not give a positive result.
