“The Central Election Committee (CEC) will prolong registration of nongovernmental organizations to follow the parliamentary elections,” Natig Mammadov, the secretary of the CEC, told Trend.
The Azerbaijani President, Ilham ALiyev gave instruction to put in discussion the ban on observation of the elections by the NGOs with 30% of foreign share in the statutory capital, envisaged by the appropriate Law, but the term of registration was up. According to Mammadov, if the Parliament removes the ban, the CEC will prolong the 10-day term.
