47 observers to arrive in Azerbaijan on 4 November

The parliamentary delegation of the Council of Europe (CE) consisting of 47 observers will arrive in Baku on 4 November, the PACE secretariat in Strasburg told Trend.

According to the report, the delegation headed by the Leo Platvoed (Netherlands) will stay in the country till 7 November and put forward its conclusions during the final news conference in Baku on 7 November.

The delegation will be the largest in number, ever sent by PACE to the elections. Meetings with the authorities and representatives of political parties, election committees and the civil society will take place. On the election day the delegation will follow the course of voting.

The delegation will also comprise a CE Venice Commission member, which jointly with the OSCE ODIHR assessed compliance of the Azerbaijan’s Election Code to the European standards.
