The Azerbaijan’s General Prosecutor’s office (GPO) completed checking of appeals related to the elections, the press service of GPO told Trend. From the start of the election campaign 35 appeals came to PGO. 20 of them came from the Central Election
Committee (РЎEC), 10 вЂ" from constituency committees, per 2 from elections blocks and law enforcement bodies and 1 вЂ" from citizen.
12 appeals were related to illegal interference of the local executive bodies and officials into the pre-election campaign, 1 вЂ" to pressure aimed at rejection of self-nomination, 5 вЂ" dissemination of discrediting information about candidates, 9 вЂ" related to the facts of grafting, threats and etc.
During inspections some facts have been revealed. The General Prosecutor’s office took relevant measures. Persons which violated the law have been held criminally accountable.
