Government of Azerbaijan scrutinizes appeal from Bayva-Enerji on cancellation of contract for power distribution networks management

The government of Azerbaijan examines the appeal from Bayva-Enerji (operator of the power distribution networks in southern and western areas of the country) on dissolution of the contract for management by power distribution networks, the first deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Yagub Eyybov told Trend on 8 November.

According to him, the decision on the issue will be taken shortly. Eyubov has not ruled out, that in case the government takes a decision on cancellation of the contract with Bayva-Enerji, then Azerenerji JSC may undertake management by the electrical networks, as it had been earlier. Eyubov specified also the possibility for announcing the repeated tender.

The first Vice вЂ" Premier thinks, the facts brought by Bayva-Enerji, are real and they may be accepted. "If the company cannot fulfill its commitments we cannot force them”, he noted.

As for the activities of the Baku and Sumgayit power distribution networks Barmek Azerbaijan, Eyubov said, that "Barmek Azerbaijan does its job well, but there are also shortcomings”. I consider, the company does not fulfill its obligations at a certain level”.

In September Bayva-Enerji sent appeal to the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan on cancellation of its contract with the country’s government on management of power networks in 46 districts. The reason for the appeal was difficulties in power networks management.
