President of Azerbaijan may take part in grand closing ceremony of Year of Azerbaijan in Russia

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev is likely to take part in the grand closing ceremony of the Year of Azerbaijan in Russia to be held in late December in Moscow, the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Russia Ramiz Rizayev told Trend exclusively.

Preparations for the forthcoming visit of the Azerbaijan’s President to Moscow are currently underway, the ambassador noted. President Aliyev will meet in the framework of the visit with the president of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and the officials from the Russian government.

The opening of the monument to the Azerbaijan’s former President Heydar Aliyev may be also dated for the official closing of the Year. According to him, the monument will be erected on one of the prominent sites of Moscow, close to “Aeroportovskaya” metro station, on the public garden, adjacent to Samad Vurgun street, close to “Baku” movie-theater. The monument’s authors are well-known sculptors from Azerbaijan and Russia, Aliyev and Sherbakov.

As Rizayev noted, President of Azerbaijan, finds always time for the meetings with the Azerbaijani Diaspora representatives within each visit to Moscow.

According to the Ambassador, after Aliyev’s visit to Moscow the Russian President Putin may also pay a visit to Baku. The visit will take place approximately in mid-February, the Ambassador said. Preparations to the visit are underway.
