“Azerbaijani Constitution is a pledge of ensuring of national interests,” Fikrat Mammadov

“The Azerbaijani Constitution serves interest of statehood, as well as forms legislative base to expand policy of reforms during the last 10 years,” Fikrat Mammadov, the Azerbaijani Justice Minister, said to a conference dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Constitution Day on Friday, Trend reports.

“The conference is dedicated to the very important issue i.e. the role of the constitution in establishment of legal state and development pf Azerbaijani statehood,” the Minister stressed. He noted that the main law developed by Ex-President Heydar Aliyev was one of the most progressive Constitutions in the world.

“Our Constitution is not destined for the present time, but future generations,” Mammadov underlined. He said that 12 November 2005 was the date of beginning of new stage in the history of the Azerbaijani statehood.
